TV...Life's Parade at Your Fingertips

A Mission Statement of Sorts
eTVreviewer.com
Getting paid to blog? Who has ever heard of such a thing? A few days ago I found out that not only do people actually get paid to blog, but many blogging sites are actively hiring people to tell the world their opinions on everything from dietary supplements to child slavery in Hong Kong. I decided to send in a few applications and "Ta-da" here I am, vying for position in the ever competitive blogosphere.

Then came the part of picking a topic to blog about. That was easy. Anyone who knows me knows I'm very passionate about television. So, there you have it WELCOME to the brand spanking new eTVreviewer.com (I even got to pick the domain name, sweet huh?).

Next thing to talk about is: "What can you expect here at eTVreviewer.com?" I've searched other TV blogs on this here the Orble blogging network, and noticed that there are no blogs designated for recapping/reviewing individual episodes of TV shows. I guess I've found my niche.

These are the shows I'm planning on recapping/reviewing:
-Lost
-Prison Break
-The Office
-Heroes
-24
-My Name is Earl
-Knights of Prosperity
-Studio 60
-Daybreak

There are tons of other shows, I understand, but there's no way I'd ever be able to cover them all. We'll see where the wind blows me with these shows, and I guess I'll throw in little TV news tidbits every once and a while. Maybe even an obligatory Paris Hilton post to catch some "search engine" surfers.

So, in closing Forget what your parents told you about watching too much TV. The winter chill is coming. So what better way to spend those cold days than being inside, with a nice cup of hot cocoa, basking in the warm glow of the plasma screen, and reading eTVreviewer.com.

Aaron,

You and I have very similar tastes in TV shows, so I'm looking forward to your blog. The only problem is, I'm in Australia so we are behind the US for most things. We won't be seeing any of the 3rd series of Lost until next February/March for example, so I will have to be careful not to spoil the surprise!

Kylie: Thanks I hope to see you back here often.

Jack: I can't help but notice your pic there. Is that a Jack Bauer pic? The greatest TV character alive?

Yeah you got me, I didn't want to put a picture of my ugly mug there, so I went with the great man instead.

Not only like Jack says are we Aussies behind the US with scheduling, but a lot of these shows just don't get out here at all - from what I saw of your proposed list there's only a handful I've even heard of.
Good luck with it all though - it looks like you've hit on a good area.

MelissaA: Thanks for stopping by. Yeah hopefully people like the site here. Seems like quite a few people are coming and I've only been up about 4 days. Anyway, MelissaA do you watch any TV?

Aaron.

Yeah, it gets a bit like that - I had people checking mine out at the start too which made me feel really good - I've only been running about a month myself.

As for TV - yes, I do when I can, although it will be interesting to see what happens down our way soon as between now and November a lot of our shows get killed off for the end of ratings season.

In fact I think this week is the last week for a few of them for a while, like 'House' and 'Grey's Anatomy'.
Then again, some other shows have only just recently started up again, like 'Survivor', so it's a bit of a mixed bag down here at the moment.

MelissaA: Yeah that's wierd how the schedule goes down there. You can always watch shows online. Either by downloading them. Or a lot of networks (ABC, NBC, FOX) are starting to show their shows online the day after they air here in the states. So, anyone around the world could watch those.

Yeah, I've considered that option but for afew things....
a) my computer is old and crappy
b) my broadband is not so old but crappy in that we can only afford to pay for certain plans with limitations - ie. after we hit our rather low d/l limit it puts us on dial up speed.
c) It's even harder to hear these things out of a crappy computer with even crappier speakers when there's kids running around.

Ah well, probably shouldn't be watching so much TV anyway. Most of what I need to know I can find out about anyway through websites and blogs like this one. ; )

MelissaA: I'm sorry to hear about your crappy computer. There's nothing worse than living in the technology age, trying to make a little bit of money over the net all the while being stuck with a crappy computer.

Well, at least if you keep coming back here and commenting on things I guess I'll let go of the fact that you don't watch much TV

I'll certainly be looking, it's the commenting that might be , shall we say...somewhat restricted.

There's nothing like wanting to get involved in someones blog but having nothing to actually say.

That's the beauty of my blog so far - anyone can get away with short comments like "Oh that's just so stupid! " etc. ; )

But then we all need a bit of brainless entertainment every now and again don't you think? : p

As a fellow blogger newbie I was hoping you could expand on the whole "getting paid to blog" point...Your not the only one who could use a paycheck!!!

Oh and from one TV nut to another - Dont feel the need to justify your excessive viewing behavior...winter chill or summer heat we all enjoy cozying up in front of a big plasma!!!

Lizard68591: Get out of that Myspace stuff, and apply here for Orble. It's not much pay but it's something. You can apply for a domain name blog.
