Why End It Now? The OC

September 11th 2008 02:52
The OC was a smash hit teen drama aired from 2003 to 2007. The show lasted for four seasons and is still considered to be one of the most popular teen dramas ever.

The show focussed on a bunch of teenagers who live in Newport Beach in Orange County, California.

The show followed a group of teenagers through High scholl and college, but like most shows of this type it concluded soon after the move from High School.

One of the min reasons the show was cancelled is due to the fact one of the main characters, Marissa Cooper, was killed off at the end of season three. The series never really recovered after the loss of actress Mischa Barton and despite the shows, still very involved storyline and other strong supporting characters.

The creators new the show was going to be cancelled at the end of the fourth season so the show was not ended abruptly, but as a viewer you almoist wish it had.

This is because the whole second half of the last season was incredibly hurried and rushed to try and finish off storylines and rap up the relationships with the characters.

The last episode in particular moved years ahead just to show Seth and Summer get married. But the real die hard fans didnt want their relationship to be skipped. They wanted too see what happened to lead to that day.

But unfortunatley this was not the case and atleast fans were given closure, but the question still remains, what if it wasnt cancelled? Would it still be going today?

Yeah but it was a completely different show to when it began. Season 3 was all about Marissa, when Ryan was the main character. And then it became all quirky, like not fun quirky, just stupid. I refuse to buy the last season. I used to be a die hard fan, but they were seriously running out of storylines. It was time to go unfortunately. I will always cherish the first three seasons though
