Another classic show which was ended way before its time was Veronica Mars. This teen mystery drama aired between 2004 and 2007 and ran for three seasons.
Veronica Mars was a series that revolved around a girl (who goes by the same name) who works for her ex-sheriff dad, who has now taken up work being a private detective.
This show boldly broke the mould of your average OC/One tree hill teenage drama. The show focussed on your normal run of the mill High school and college drama, but then twisted it up with darker undertones of murder, sex and crime.
This show did considerably well among viewers and most believe it didn’t deserve to be cancelled so prematurely. The show was cancelled at the end of the third season. Not really leaving the viewers with a cliff hanger, but still not wrapping up many mysteries and relationships.
What made the cancellation so hard was the fact that on the third season DVD they gave a preview of the fourth season. The trailer was entitled “Veronica Mars in the FBI’. It was now set after college and as the title suggests, Veronica is now a first year FBI agent. This little trailer showed a huge leap forward for the series and finally demonstrated to the viewer a grown up Veronica who was being acknowledged for her hard work and dedication to solving mysteries.
There have been rumours circulating that a movie might be in production based on the series. Series creator Rob Thomas has expressed serious interest in making this happen.
There is also plans to develop a comic book series based on Veronica’s adventures.
Kristen Bell has now moved on to be even more successful after the cancellation of the series. She is now a regular on the hit show ‘Heroes’ and has starred in several movies, including the recent comedy ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’.
Evidently fans love Kristen Bell as an actress and this further demonstrates that Veronica Mars was ended way too soon.
